DOOM Eternal, Fallout 76, Rage 2, And More Confirmed For Steam
For a long while, Valve’s supremely-popular storefront Steam was largely the only name in the game when it came to PC releases. However, recent months has seen a new contender arise in the Epic Games Store, with a growing list of AAA titles striking deals to debut on the still-emerging platform. In effort to avoid potential confusion or inevitable backlash, publishers are now clarifying their launch plans ahead of time; Bethesda recently confirming several anticipated titles such as DOOM Eternal on the side of Steam.
Revealing the news over Twitter, the publisher has announced upcoming games Rage 2, Wolfenstein: Youngblood, VR spin-off Wolfenstein: Cyberpilot, as well as the aforementioned DOOM Eternal will skip the Epic Games Store for a launch on Steam alongside the publisher’s own digital marketplace. As an added measure of commitment to Valve’s storefront, Bethesda also confirmed the first-party exclusive Fallout 76 will also make its way to Steam sometime in the remaining months of 2019.
