DOOM Eternal Teases Upcoming Single-Player DLC

Bethesda DOOM Eternal

It’s only been a few months since DOOM Eternal finally made its electrifying worldwide release, stacking up legions of hellish monsters and more than a few accolades in the process. As The Slayer made quick work of the fiery underworld, fans are undoubtedly excited about what may next be in store for the game’s upcoming DLC. While little has been discussed regarding the add-on content, publisher Bethesda and developer id Sofware have now shown off the first inkling of what the final product may have to offer.

Revealed on the official DOOM Twitter account, a pair of screenshots were formally unveiled with the intent of providing a “sneak peek” for the “first upcoming campaign DLC.” The images themselves, while not too revealing, are nonetheless pretty stunning, showing off a destroyed Maykr fortress and a massive drilling rig of some sort as locations featured in the DLC. By the looks of things, fans are almost sure to encounter some more evil beings on this adventure, which is likely where the Slayer’s “rip and tear” sensibilities will come in.

Bethesda didn’t reveal any further details about the DOOM Eternal DLC, but it’s likely we’ll hear more about the yet unnamed add-on in the coming weeks. While this is sure to be exciting for fans that have completed the main campaign, it may prove to be less so due to recent drama surrounding the game’s soundtrack. Following several telling exchanges on social media, id Software officially confirmed series composer Mick Gordon would not be making any more of his signature contributions to the series – all starting with this particular DLC.

DOOM Eternal is out now for Google Stadia, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One, with a Nintendo Switch version still in development.

What do you think? Are you excited to dive into more DOOM Eternal, or are you still bummed that Mick Gordon won’t be part of it?
