Doctor Who VR Game Revealed, Arriving Later This Year (VIDEO)
Ever imagined yourself in the shoes of the Doctor? Ever wondered what it would be like to confront a robust Dalek face-to-face? Thanks to publisher Playstack and video game developer Maze Theory, BBC officially announced the upcoming arrival of a virtual reality game! Titled Doctor Who: The Edge of Time, its release is planned for later this year.
After the successful hit of the animated virtual reality experience of Doctor Who: The Runway, a fully-interactive game is headed to several platforms, allowing fans around the world to experience the universe as the current doctor played by Jodie Whittaker. Check out the teaser below:
As horrifying as it may sound, fathom an attack by a Weeping Angel, an assault by Daleks, and traveling through time in the TARDIS while armed with the trusty sonic screwdriver! That’s an adventure that’s hard to beat. Doctor Who: The Edge of Time will feature monstrosities you’ve never seen in the series as players attempt to save the very fabric of reality. there will be challenging puzzles, “stunning cinematic environments,” and more. Here’s an official synopsis according to BBC:
The Doctor has been hurled through time to the end of the universe. A virus that threatens to rip apart reality itself has been unleashed. Players can pilot the TARDIS on a journey across worlds both familiar and strange to recover a series of powerful time crystals that can repair spacetime and ultimately save the universe itself.”
