New Dissidia Final Fantasy NT DLC Character Will Be Revealed Next Week (VIDEO)

Final Fantasy XII’s Vayne Carudas Solidor recently joined the epic roster of Dissidia Final Fantasy NT, and already Square Enix has begun to tease the next DLC character set to join this Summer. The publisher has officially announced that the identity of the next DLC character will be revealed during a livestream broadcast set to take place on May 15th at 8:00 PM, Japan time. Here is the video for the future livestream below:

Whichever character is announced next week, it will be the second of six DLC characters promised by Square Enix. In a livestream earlier this year, Square Enix revealed that the second DLC character will be male, and will come from within the first half of the series of Final Fantasy games. If we ignore the debate on which titles are considered the older half vs the newer half and go purely by numbers, Final Fantasy 1 – Final Fantasy VII would qualify, meaning anyone from Barrett to Josef could make their Dissidia debut this summer, though the latest character could also be a villain. Said villains could include any of the Four Fiends (or Archfiends from FFIV), Hein, Xande, even Gilgamesh would be an excellent candidate. The big thing to keep in mind is that Square Enix isn’t paying much attention to spin-off titles, so guesses like Delita (FF Tactics) and Queen (FF Type-0) shouldn’t have much weight.

It will be interesting to see which characters Square Enix has picked out for the remaining, unannounced five DLC characters. That said, the publisher could always add more characters in past the ones that are promised, it will all depend on demand and how popular the game is once the sixth character is released at some point in 2019.

Dissidia Final Fantasy NT is now available exclusively for PlayStation 4.
