Director Confirms Prey’s Multiple Endings – Here’s What We Know
The developers of the upcoming first-person shooter game have confirmed that Prey will have multiple endings that all depend on your actions throughout. In the game, you control Morgan Yu and explore the moon orbiting space station Talos I, where they are researching a hostile alien group called the Typhon. Arkane Studios Lead Designer Ricardo Bare explains how every decision you make leads to a unique one of Prey’s multiple endings.
“How you treat the human beings on the station matters. There are consequences throughout and at the end, especially for what you do with the survivors that you meet… There are definitely multiple endings–a wide variance. There’s two main branches, mostly centered around the fate of the space station and the survivors, but then within those branches, there’s tons of little permutations.”
Even though it’s been said that Prey will be a sort of re-imagining of the Human Head Studios 2006 game of the same name, Arkane’s version doesn’t use any of the same details. The two games only share a name and the theme of the protagonist being hunted by aliens. The Creative Director Raphael Colantonio has said last year that Prey has “no tie with the original and Bare insists that this game “exists totally on its own”.
Prey is set for release on May 5th for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Are you excited about Prey’s multiple endings? Are you planning to buy the game?
