Destiny Developers Ban Cheaters and Tease PSX To Gamers
Destiny creators have released a slew of information to their faithful followers this week. Some of that news is good, some… not so good. To get the bad news out of the way, just yesterday Bungie’s community manager Cozmo has made it absolutely certain that the developers will not be lax on banning their players if they are found cheating, or have had a history of cheating in the past. This is a wide-spread closure that’s affecting whole consoles, rather than just IP addresses, so this is some serious retribution that the developers are issuing onto less-than honorable players. Cozmo hasn’t gone into much detail on the why or how, but if you do have questions you can check out the developer’s help article on bans and restrictions.
Console bans are being issued today for devices with a history of banned or restricted accounts.

Now, with that somber news out of the way, Bungie has also updated their news site revealing Destiny related tidbits and dropped a major hint that we may be getting some information on Destiny 2 at the upcoming PlayStation Experience in Anaheim, California. This is kind of a nice little sliver of hope, considering Santa Monica Studios announced that God of War would not be revealed at the California based Sony event, much to the chagrin of fans. While we only have a fleeting comment to give us this hope, we’ll have to wait until December 3rd to see if our assumptions are correct and if we will, truly, get a new Destiny reveal then.

Aside from revealing the possibility of Destiny 2 information at PSX, Bungie features a video of some of the production team of Destiny, aptly named Team Velveeta, took on the machines they themselves created in Destiny, and streamed the play through with conviction and some serious hilarity. You can still view the video from Bungie’s website and share in the joy.
With these bite-sized snippets of news, Bungie continues to keep us on our toes. However, it would behoove anyone to seriously heed their announcement on the console ban, and make sure you’re not one of the ones under fire. What do you guys think on their latest news bites? Are you excited for the possibility of a Destiny reveal at PSX? Give us a shout in the comments below, and game on!
