Destiny 2’s Cayde-6 Not Voiced By Nathan Fillion In Forsaken, Actor Confirms

Destiny 2

When the trailer for Destiny 2’s upcoming Forsaken expansion dropped at this year’s E3, fans were slightly shocked to see the demise of Cayde-6. With the character’s fate wrapped up in a short video, we’ll see his final moments when Forsaken drops later this year. That said, fans won’t be getting the whole package, as Nathan Fillion has confirmed he will not be returning.

As many of you know, Fillion has provided the Hunter Vanguard with a voice in the Destiny franchise. However, when gameplay from Forsaken was seen, fans noticed that the voice for Cayde-6 was not Fillion. This, of course, wouldn’t be the most surprising thing in the world. The popular actor probably collects a rather large paycheck from Bungie for his vocal talents, and bringing him in to provide a handful of lines before Cayde-6 meets his demise likely wouldn’t be the most fiscally responsible decision.

Fillion confirmed that he will not be returning in Forsaken during a recent interview. While initially there to promote his role as Nathan Drake in a short fan-film for Uncharted, the topic of Destiny 2 came up. This is when he let the fans know their suspicions were true. Instead, Nolan North will take up the role, even if it is only for the character’s final moments. As Destiny players know, North already provides the voice for Ghost, so this seemingly appears to be a financial decision on Bungie’s end.

Destiny 2: Forsaken is set to arrive on September 4th for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Keep it tuned to Don’t Feed the Gamers as we learn more about the upcoming expansion, and for other gaming goodness going on right now, check out the following:
