The Defenders Trailer Shows the Marvel Heroes Banding Together to Protect New York (VIDEO)

The Defenders trailer

It has been nearly one month since the elevator footage was teased from the upcoming Netflix show that brings Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist together. It was in this teaser that fans first got to see the band of misfit heroes in the same place at once. Viewers were also able to witness Jones jumping up to undoubtedly smash the camera that was recording them, only to end the video on a time stamp that revealed the release date. While the show won’t be arriving until later this summer, fans have just received another treat to hold them over: The first official The Defenders trailer.

This, of course, arrives just one day after the return of a Daredevil season two character was teased by the streaming giant. The Defenders trailer has come along to not only confirm the arrival of said character, but also show the four heroes kick a little bit of ass in an attempt to clean up the city. Fans will be able to recognize the voice of Stick(Scott Glenn) throughout the video. He refers to the titular heroes as “the devil of Hell’s Kitchen, the smartass detective, the righteous ex-con, and a kid with a glowing fist.” Just after the reveal that confirms the teaser from yesterday, Stick tell’s the group, “The war for New York is here… so get your shit together.” You’ll have to check out the Defenders trailer below to see what happens next:

The Defenders will debut on Netflix on August 18. It stars Charlie Cox(Daredevil), Krysten Ritter(Jessica Jones), Mike Colter(Luke Cage), and Finn Jones(Iron Fist). The show will also be bring back a few characters from the individual shows, and it will give fans a chance to meet the new antagonist Alexandra, played by Sigourney Weaver.

Will The Defenders end up surpassing the rest of the Marvel shows on Netflix in popularity, or do you believe it will be too much going on in one place? How big of a role is Stick going to play? Isn’t it exciting to see Luke Cage and Iron Fist on screen at the same time? Drop a thought or two in the comments section below!
