Sweet Christmas! Marvel’s Luke Cage Renewed for Season 2 on Netflix (VIDEO)

Luke Cage

Marvel’s Luke Cage showed up on Netflix back in September and has been receiving all sorts of love ever since. It quickly climbed the laundry list of original content Netflix has put out, and we couldn’t be any happier for it. With the rich story, incredible soundtrack, and beautiful acting, Luke Cage gives just about any other television show a run for its money. That is exactly why we are positively thrilled to see that it has been renewed for a second season. Netflix announced the glorious news at Comic Con Brazil, while a short teaser was uploaded to the show’s Twitter page.

The teaser starts with the camera panning down the front of Pop’s Barber Shop while a simplistic, mellow hip-hop beat plays out for your ears to enjoy. As the camera pans lower, a neon sign illuminates in the window, and that sign says “SEASON 2 COMING SOON.” With the first season only a couple months old, it is difficult to tell what they mean when they say soon. In any case, we hope production is quick and swift, and that we can see it at some point in 2017.

Netflix and Marvel will be having a nice 2017 with Iron Fist being slated for a March 17, 2017 release, The Defenders, which is to release after Iron Fist, and Punisher, which should be coming out Novermber 2017. With the second season of Jessica Jones possibly not being released until 2018, and all of that goodness coming out next year, we just might not be seeing everyone’s favorite defender of Harlem so soon after all. Either way, it is happening, and that’s exciting enough!

Still haven’t watched Luke Cage? We recommend that you rectify that immediately! It’s streaming on Netflix as we speak, so you should go check it out. Before you do that, though, you should drop us a comment below and let us know what you’re thinking. It can be about anything you want! It can even be about the fact that there is a remaster of the Crash Bandicoot trilogy coming! As long as you keep it tuned to Don’t Feed the Gamers, you won’t miss any gaming news because we simply won’t allow that.
