Death Stranding Reveals Stellar Sam And Cliff Statues At TGS 2019
Kojima Productions made a strong appearance at this year’s Tokyo Game Show, sharing a bit more information on their mysterious new title, Death Stranding, such as details concerning the story as well as yet another peek into the title’s gameplay. The developer also showed off not one but two incredible statues featuring characters from the game in all their glory.
The two amazing statues come from Prime 1 Studios, a Japanese company that specializes in the creation of statues amazing statues from pop culture. The company put both Norman Reedus’ character Sam Bridges and Mads Mikkelson’s character Cliff on display with a lot of detail right down to the bases that the statues sit on. The Cliff statue features a baby lying on the ground while Doctor Octopus-looking tentacles protrude from underneath the military fatigues the character is wearing. The inky black stream of what appear to be tears drips down his face and onto various parts of his body, including his fingers that he holds up as if telling the viewer to be quiet.
The Sam statue also features some amazing detailed work from his suit to his “Bridge Baby,” a human fetus that resides in a clear pod that sits on the character’s chest. The blend between hard and soft textures is well defined and makes the statue seem almost alive. Both statues are relatively tall, while they don’t appear to be life-sized they are quite large, making each small detail even more noticeable.
Death Stranding is set to arrive on November 11th as a PlayStation 4 exclusive. Let us know your thoughts on the two new statues and more in the comment section below. As always, don’t forget to follow Don’t Feed the Gamers on Twitter for 24/7 coverage of all things gaming and entertainment.
