Death Stranding's Massive 49 Minute Trailer Features World Traversal, Combat, And More (VIDEO)

Remember that massive Death Stranding content drop we’ve been talking about for a while now that was supposed to air at Tokyo Game Show 2019? Well, it has officially arrive and it is absolutely glorious. Just yesterday, Kojima Productions released a 7-minute ‘Briefing’ trailer that gave viewers some important insight into the story and the motive behind Sam’s journey across the ruins of America. Now, this massive 49-minute trailer expands on this, showing off loads of world traversal, combat, and more. Grab some popcorn, have a seat, and check it out below:

As shown above, Sam has to put a whole lot of miles in throughout the events of Death Stranding. The main theme is all about ‘Connection,’ though what they don’t tell you is that there’s a significant amount of walking involved in trying to reconnect the folks across a tattered country. Thankfully, Sam will also occasionally have access to things that make his life easier, such as a motorcycle and a sort of mech suit.

In addition to the world traversal, we are also given some glimpses of combat. While Kojima-san has been clear that Death Stranding is not a shooter, we’re definitely seeing some similar elements, with a few combat features even being reminiscent of Metal Gear Solid 5. Towards the end of the footage we are also given a glimpse at a boss fight that pits Sam against a creature covered in a black, oily liquid. With just two months left until the release of the title, this massive block of footage is just another reason why Death Stranding appears to be absolutely worthy of its hype.

Death Stranding releases exclusively for the PlayStation 4 on November 8, 2019.
