Death Stranding Setting Potentially Revealed

Death Stranding

Gamers are counting down the days to this year’s Electronic Entertainment Expo. Not only will the world be provided with a plethora of gaming goodness to look forward to, but Hideo Kojima will be offering up a new Death Stranding trailer. Sure, we’ve received a fair look at the upcoming title thus far, but not many people know exactly what is going on or what the title is even about.

That being said, a recent teaser posted by Kojima may hint at the setting of Death Stranding. In past videos, we’ve seen desolate and mysterious lands, but nothing that point to one singular place. However, with the latest image, which was just some moss, one person pointed out the similarities between the Death Stranding teaser and some Icelandic lava fields that are covered in moss. Take a look for yourself below:

The theory really grew some legs and started running once Hideo Kojima himself retweeted the comparison. In response to @YamatoDT, someone else threw their two cents in with another shot of Iceland that is comparable to a still from Death Stranding. You can see that below:

Remember that none of this confirms the setting for Death Stranding, but it certainly creates a sound theory. Pair that with the music choice for the reveal trailer and it looks like we might be heading to Iceland in the upcoming game. Of course, we won’t truly know where the title takes place until Kojima reveals that particular information.

We’re hoping E3 gives us the goods next month, but it’s always possible that we could be receiving just another trailer. Keep it tuned to Don’t Feed the Gamers as this story develops, and for other gaming news going on right now, check out the following:
