Dead By Daylight Ringu Chapter Summons Cult-Favorite Horror Series (VIDEO)

As online gaming becomes more and more ubiquitous with video gaming, new genres have been able to find a way to work in an online gaming context. This has been especially true for Dead By Daylight, which has proven to be a fan-favorite on social media and Twitch. The game has especially gained attention for its various crossovers with classic horror franchises, including Stranger Things and Resident Evil. This has allowed for frequent new updates and content to entice players to return. Now, developer Behaviour Interactive has announced a new Dead By Daylight Ringu chapter, which brings the classic Japanese cult-favorite horror series to the game.

Behaviour Interactive has recently released a new update on their official Dead By Daylight website announcing the new Dead By Daylight Ringu chapter. The new chapter will bring elements from Kōji Suzuki’s famous 1991 novel and its 1998 live-action film adaptation to the game. Here is what Kadokawa producer Reiko Imayasu had to say about the new collaboration:

We are very excited for the collaboration with Behaviour Interactive and the Dead by Daylight team. We’ll be sending one of our most haunting characters to the Fog to pour down horrors that will rival all the great predecessors. Fans should beware of their heart; this deadly newcomer will definitely strike them, and they will tremble with fear whilst they wait.”

The announcement trailer shows a well in a foggy forest, heavily implying that this is the well from Ring. In the story, the legend suggests that young Sadako Yamamura was pushed down a well like this. Likely, Yamamura will be included as a new nemesis in the game. Dead By Daylight Ringu chapter is set to release some time in March 2022. Hopefully when it releases, it doesn’t lead to the death of players within seven days of watching the screens.
