The upcoming Dark Souls Remastered represents both an amazing throwback and some stellar fan service for those that originally trudged through Lordran on the PS3 version and later, with mods, when it released on PC back in 2012. Ever since the game was announced, fans have been wondering exactly how good the title will look on their platform of choice. Now, thanks to PAX East, we have our first look at the Dark Souls Remastered Nintendo Switch version of the game. Check out the video below, taken at PAX East:

That definitely looks like the Undead Berg we all know and love. The Dark Souls Remastered Nintendo Switch version of the game looks just how we imagined it: beautiful graphics, loads of nostalgia, and a half-naked hollow deprived running around. While from the top level each of the console versions are similar and feature many of the same upgrades from the original, the biggest downside to playing the game on the Nintendo Switch is that it runs at 30fps, compared to the 60fps on the other platforms. On the plus side, from what we’re able to see the game’s fps doesn’t dip at all, though that may change once our friendly neighborhood deprived ventures into Blighttown. Hopefully the last bit of that sentence didn’t just give you folks terrible flashbacks.

All in all we’re extremely excited to run through the original Dark Souls on current-gen consoles, and we’ll be able to do so on May 25 for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
