Dark Horse Books Announces The Art Of God Of War
Dark Horse Books has really been upping its video game art repertoire, with the publisher’s most recent offerings ranging from the Final Fantasy Ultimania Archive to The Art of Metal Gear. The publisher’s latest foray into the world of video games may involve some severed limbs, though, as Dark Horse Books has announced its next big project – The Art of God of War. Teaming up with Sony Interactive Entertainment and Santa Monica Studios, the upcoming God of War art book from Dark Horse is the “quintessential companion” to the upcoming God of War game. The art book costs $35.99, and will be released on June 30, 2018. Those looking to pick up The Art of God of War can pre-order it through normal art book outlets, such as Amazon and Barnes & Noble. The full description from Dark Horse Books can be seen below:
The Art of God of War is an intimate chronicle of the years-long odyssey to bring Kratos and Atreus’ beautiful and brutal world to life. Step into Midgard and explore beyond, as Dark Horse Books and Santa Monica Studios are pleased to offer the quintessential companion to the enormously anticipated God of War. This is a tome unlike any other, including an expanse of gorgeous art and in-depth interviews that set readers on an exhaustive behind-the-scenes journey to witness the creation of an epic of tremendous scale.”
There also happens to be a limited edition version of The Art of God of War (seen above), which runs for $79.99. What separates this edition from the normal version is its deluxe leather-like clamshell case and cover, which features a bright silver foil and red gilded pages. Also included in the limited edition is a cloth-covered collector’s portfolio with two gallery quality lithographs by Jose Cabrera. The release date for The Art of God of War Exclusive Edition is the same as the $35.99 version, though it is sold exclusively through the PlayStation Gear store. God of War arrives on the PlayStation 4 at some point in 2018.
