Cyberpunk 2077 Trademark Officially Filed Ahead Of E3 2018
The developers famous for their video game adaptation of The Witcher series is at it again with their upcoming and highly anticipated new science-fiction franchise, Cyberpunk 2077. While a shroud of mystery still hangs around any details or gameplay, there’s rumor circulating that a potential presentation is headed to E3 2018. Given the few teasers and behind-the-scenes images presented thus far and the notoriety of the studio itself, it’s no wonder enthusiasts have high hopes. Now it seems CD Projekt Red has officially filed the trademark for Cyberpunk 2077 ahead of the expo.
As evident by a listing seen on the EUIPO (European Union Intellectual Property Office) website, the file information confirms the game is well on its way into development (if not already). Despite the details revealed already, which really isn’t much considering that it is a brand new IP, what does this mean for a release date? There’s really no saying just yet, but that does mean fans will be hearing of some revelation in the near future. According to Francesco Fossetti over at Everyeye and other mysteriously anonymous sources, there will be an closed-door press meeting that will take place beforehand and even a Microsoft briefing to take place next week.
If that doesn’t spell a potential flood of information, we’re not sure what else does! Granted, these remain unconfirmed meetings as of right now. So, let it be said that these rumored meetings are exactly that – rumored. Will that stop the hype from building? Probably not.
As for what we do know, Cyberpunk 2077 will reportedly be a science-fiction themed first-person shooter. In fact, players may see themselves on planet Mars.
