Cyberpunk 2077 PS5 and Xbox Series X Versions Available Now (VIDEO)

Cyberpunk 2077 has now been released for more than a year, though much of that time has been mired in controversy and chaos. The game was initially launched only for the previous generation of consoles, and with many bugs and issues making it nearly unplayable on these older devices. While CD Projekt has since worked hard to correct these issues, it ultimately led to delays for the newest next-gen consoles. Now, CD Projekt Red has finally made the Cyberpunk 2077 PS5 and Xbox Series X versions of the game along with a significant new update that brings improvements as well.

GameSpot recently hosted a new CD Projekt Red developer livestream on their official YouTube channel. The devs presented the fruits of the new Patch 1.5 update, which mainly includes the Cyberpunk 2077 PS5 and Xbox Series X versions of the game. First, the devs showcased several quality-of-life improvements made for all versions of the game to enjoy. These include enhanced skill trees, throwing knives that can return to the player like a boomerang, and the ability to survive final blows. There are also big improvements to the NPC pedestrians. Some NPCs can now break into fights with enemy characters and react to the player’s unsafe driving habits.

The big inclusion with the patch is, of course, the Cyberpunk 2077 PS5 and Xbox Series X versions, which players on previous-gen consoles can upgrade to for free. The next-gen versions include a Performance Mode that enables 60 FPS and 4K resolution, as well as a Ray-Tracing Mode that enables ray-traced shadows at 30 FPS in 4K. Users will have to download the roughly-50 GB patch to access these, and PS5 owners will need to separately go to the new PS5 listing of the game on PSN to download the free upgrade. A five-hour demo of the next-gen versions are also available now, and digital stores are offering 50% discounts on the game. While it took a while, it seems like now might be the perfect time for gamers to finally step into the world of Cyberpunk and see how truly breathtaking it is.
