Mafia III’s Sign of the Times DLC Now Available for Download (VIDEO)
Mafia III’s “Sign of the Times” DLC is now available for download and it’s all about cults, drugs, and rebuilding Sammy from rubble. Hangar 13 and 2K Games, once again, brings Lincoln into dangerous territory with the help of Father James. What seemed like a step in a positive direction to make peace within himself is far more than he imagined when they both stumble upon the inner workings of The Ensanglante – a “drug-fueled, blood worshipping cult” that has risen from the swamps and into the city of New Bordeaux, Louisiana.
As with any cult, their objectives began with a convoluted, misplaced sense of righteousness and an ideal for new order. To do so, The Ensanglante believe blood rituals and violence are the answers. It’s up to the player to take on the role as Lincoln and investigate what exactly their “end-game” really is. Check out the inside look at Mafia III’s “Sign of the Times” below:
There’s more to it than just investigating a dangerous, drug cult though. With the “Sign of the Times” downloadable content, players can expect new rides, weapons, outfits, and a brand new “slow-motion gunplay mechanic” similar to the driving perk in “Faster, Baby”. There will also be throwing knives, a Black Sacrament automatic rifle, Samson Harrier hotrod, Bulworth Harrow, and more content within. Furthermore, Lincoln and gang can turn the hard-earned cash to rebuilding Sammy’s “to its former glory”. If that means installing a bar and jukebox then by all means! According to the Mafia III blog post, the ability to restore Sammy’s was a highly requested feature. For more on that end, check out the video here!
In comparison to the two previous ones Senior Writer for Mafia III, Ed Fowler, noted that this expansion has a more “deliberate pacing”. As Lincoln searches ritual sites that The Ensanglante use, there will be clues and tidbits to pick up on that will make for a more impactful storyline, direction, and gameplay. From the moment that the “Sign of the Times” DLC kicks off, you’re in for more deliberate pacing. There’s a mystery to solve with Lincoln searching for stray objects left behind, strange writing – you’ll even examine bodies for clues. By eyeballing the environment and using a blacklight flashlight to uncover hints, you’ll zero in on where The Ensanglante operate and what the hell their endgame is for New Bordeaux. At key points in this DLC, we have these investigation zones where you’ll methodically look for clues that reveal more of the truth… and it can quickly turn a corner where you’ll be dealing with cult members in tense firefights.
