Chivalry 2 Delayed Until 2021 Due To COVID

Chivalry 2

Torn Banner Studios has recently stated that Chivalry 2’s launch date has been pushed back until 2021 due to factors surround the COVID-19 pandemic but it will release on PC (Via the Epic Games Store), Xbox One, Xbox Series X, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 concurrently. According to the Chivalry 2 website they stated “We believe this updated timeline is necessary to allow Chivalry 2 to be the greatest game it can be, and one that realizes our vision of a “true sequel” to the original Chivalry: Medieval Warfare.”

In that same post they discussed the impact that COVID-19 had by saying this:

As we settle in to working together in new ways in a COVID-19 world, our development timelines are shifting to utilize this additional time to better meet our core goals for Chivalry 2, as well as allowing us to incorporate several quality of life improvements and also include what was originally post-launch content, in the release.

The Chivalry 2 development team is still currently working on the Closed Alpha builds which is under a NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement) for all it’s testers. There are still more Alpha rounds continued after this latest one (Round 6) before the developers will allow for public Beta testing which also is affected by the new timeline and though the Beta test was originally planned for the summer, it too has been delayed. You can sign up to be a Chivalry 2 Alpha tester here.

Chivalry 2 will be a cross-platform game allowing it’s players to play with others whom are using another console or PC. The game was initally announced during E3 in 2019 and features first-person battles for up to 64 players in an attempt to recreate a knights life in medieval times including combat, raiding villages, sieging castles and more.
