The very first comic to reveal what happens in the time between The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi was released last week. The kick-off issue of Journey to Star Wars: The Last Jedi – Captain Phasma takes readers back in time to show what she was up to following the annihilation of the Starkiller Base. It also might give fans a peek at an upcoming star in The Last Jedi.

The last time anyone saw the commander of the First Order’s Stormtroopers, she was shoved into a garbage chute by Finn and Han. That happened right after they had got Captain Phasma to take down the energy shields that protected the giant weapon, allowing Poe Dameron the chance to destroy it. This issue reads as an audio log created by Phasma detailing the events on record, while what actually took place is playing out for the readers to see.

Also included in this issue is a black BB unit, which you may have seen before in the press for The Last Jedi. The new little star may not have been named in the issue, but it’s obvious he’s going to be important if they’re going to keep bringing him up.
