Call Of Duty: Black Ops 4 Betas Announced For Multiplayer And Blackout

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Betas

As gamers begin to approach the release of this year’s installment of the Call of Duty franchise, many can’t help but feel the need to get their hands on the game. After all, it’s Black Ops 4, how could anyone resist? We also know the series is hopping on the battle royale bandwagon with Blackout, so it will be interesting to see how they handle that. With that being said, Treyarch has officially announced when players will be able to enjoy the beta.

In a post on their website, Treyarch informed gamers of the upcoming betas for both multiplayer and Blackout from Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. Here’s when you can expect the multiplayer beta, which will be arriving first on PlayStation 4:

  • PlayStation 4 (Starts: August 3 at 10am/PT – Ends: August 6 at 10am/PT)
  • PlayStation 4 and Xbox One (Starts: August 10 at 10am/PT – Ends: August 13 at 10am/PT)
  • PC Beta Early Access (Starts: August 10 at 10am/PT) *PC exclusively on Battle.Net
  • PC Open Beta (Starts: August 11 at 10am/PT – Ends: August 13 at 10am/PT)

“All participants in the Beta will receive a unique, one-of-a-kind calling card that they can proudly display,” Treyarch said. “And for every player that achieves max rank in the Beta, they will earn a Permanent Unlock Token to apply to any piece of Create-a-Class content when the game comes out.” That seems like quite the incentive to grind away during the beta.

The modes that will be available during the multiplayer beta are Team Deathmatch, Domination, Hardpoint, Search & Destroy, and Control. A total of six maps will be featured during the testing phase, “two of which will make their first public appearance.”

As for Blackout, no specific details have been revealed as of yet, but the studio design director had a few things to say about the “uniquely Black Ops take on battle royale.” “Everyone who works on Blackout or plays is always eager to share a story they have,” David Vonderhaar said.

“That game session might be a triumphant victory or a tragic loss — it might be how land, sea, and air vehicles collided in unexpected ways for a final showdown — or, it just might be a funny fail moment. No matter what, when people get done playing and want to tell the story of what happened to them afterwards, you know you have something special.”

Treyarch senior producer Yale Miller chimed in and said, “The team has been having a ridiculous amount of fun playing it internally. We are so excited to be able to share that fun with you in September. The community feedback generated from going hands-on is always incredibly important, and it’s never been more so than with Blackout.”

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is set to arrive on October 12 for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Treyarch and Activision intend on releasing more information about the Blackout beta in the coming weeks, so keep it tuned to Don’t Feed the Gamers as we’ll let you know all of the glorious details.
