The Bullet Soul Series and More Now Available on Xbox One’s Backwards Compatibility Program

Bullet Soul

Microsoft’s Backwards Compatibility Program aims to bring classic games from the Xbox 360 and make them playable on the Xbox One. Whether you have a physical copy or a digital one, it’s as simple as loading it up. It’s not just strange, cheesy titles either. There are major AAA games like Black Ops II and the Mass Effect trilogy that recently joined the program after being the most requested titles for months. This week saw the release of 5 new titles, which includes two Bullet Soul games.

Bullet Soul

Bullet Soul and Bullet Soul: Infinite take up a large portion of the releases this week and are set at a price of $15 each. Both games see players in a shooter genre similar to many classic scrolling shooters. This includes a flying ship in which players fly around the screen collecting power-ups and using them to destroy enemies in the air and on the ground. It’s a simple but fun bit of chaos for those so inclined to pick it up. Other titles released with both Bullet Soul games are:

  • Hard Corps: Uprising, $15
  • Harms Way, FREE
  • Band of Bugs, $10

Other recent releases the last couple of weeks were Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved 2 and Geometry Wars 3: Dimensions. Like the Bullet Soul games, Geometry Wars is based off of classic arcade shooters, pitting players in a fight for survival against all kinds of glowing shapes. Like many classic arcade games, the objectives and designs were simple but they were created to be impossible to beat. The same goes for both Geometry Wars and Bullet Soul. Simple, fun, and addicting.

The complete list of backwards compatible games has reached over 330 titles for the player’s enjoyment. It’s an impressive amount of  games to get through, have you played them all?
