Brand New Star Wars Rebels Clip Features Obi-Wan Kenobi (VIDEO)
A brand new trailer for the upcoming Star Wars Rebels episode, “Ghosts of Geonosis” dropped yesterday, just a few days before the mid-season premiere of this much-adored series. Previously, we were given an early look at the inclusion of Saw Gerrera in this Sunday’s premier, an announcement that was met with a lot of enthusiasm.
After the wild success of Rogue One, the story of Saw Gerrera has been one that intrigued fans all over, with his extremist views and subsequent break from the Rebel Alliance that remained a mystery in the film. This mid-season premiere is met with the hopes that we’ll get more insight as to why he chose to traverse his own path, though with this latest trailer, it is revealed that Obi-Wan Kenobi is also being brought in to confront a feud 18 years in the making. The extended trailer for this Sunday’s episode was announced on the Star Wars’ official Twitter. This trailer reveal also comes at a crucial point in time, offering up a balm for the loss of one iconic Star Wars actress that rocked the fandom to its very core. Luckily, the premiere of Star Wars Rebels mid-season reveal isn’t the only source of comfort in the collective community’s hearts. Marvel has recently revealed that they will be honoring the loss of Carrie Fisher in upcoming comic issue Poe Dameron #14, and that since her death, Princess Leia will have an impact on the issue in a way that hadn’t been originally planned.
There is a lot to expect out of this upcoming two-part episode of Star Wars Rebels, and we can’t wait to check it out for ourselves.
