Borderlands 3 Already Seeing The “Best Numbers In Gearbox History,” Says CEO

Borderlands 3

Borderlands 3 was released just a few days ago and it is already seeing a level of success that previous entries have not. Gearbox Software CEO Randy Pitchford recently took to Twitter to reveal that the latest installment in the franchise has already reached a concurrent player count double that of which Borderlands 2 has seen at its highest.

On his Twitter account, Pitchford announced that the peak concurrent player count for Borderlands 3 on PC is roughly twice as many as the all time high for Borderlands 2. In a tweet the following day, the CEO stated that this is the “best numbers in gearbox history.” This is certainly an impressive feat, especially when you consider the fact that it just launched and many fans were rather outspoken about not playing the game on PC just yet due to the Epic Games Store exclusivity.

In case you don’t know what Borderlands 3 is all about, here’s more:

“The original shooter-looter returns, packing bazillions of guns and an all-new mayhem-fueled adventure. Blast your way through new worlds and enemies as one of four brand new Vault Hunters, each with deep skill trees, abilities, and customization. Play solo or join with friends to take on insane enemies, collect loads of loot and save your home from the most ruthless cult leaders in the galaxy.”

Borderlands 3 is currently available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Keep it tuned to Don’t Feed the Gamers as this story develops, and for other gaming goodness going on right now, check out the following:
