Another day of Gamescom 2020 involves another day of exciting announcements and reveals. If you’re itching for another battle royale game to try out, Iceberge Interactive and Get Up Games has a seaworthy game to set your telescopes on! Watch pirates invade the battle royale genre in Blazing Sails latest gameplay trailer below:

Whether you’re looking to destroy enemy ships with cannons and exchange blows deck-to-deck or duke it out on land, Blazing Sails offers all that and more. Loot your way into gear and weapons upgrades, develop your playstyle as you go, or find sneakier ways of winning the game. Want to make an impactful statement? Try getting your hands on the fish launcher of shoulder cannon – those’ll make a splash.

“Fight for survival in Blazing Sails, a pirate battle royale game,” Iceberg Interactive described Blazing Sails. “Create your own unique pirate and ship. Band together with other players to command your mighty vessel! Navigate land and sea for loot, resources, unique weapons and ship upgrades. Hunt down all other pirate crews in fast-paced naval battles. Sink every other ship to win the skirmish!”

Why bother putting Blazing Sails through early access, you might ask? Well, the games been through the grind with public feedback from their passionate community and Get Up Games and team believe it’s the next best step for the battle royale title. “Over the last few months, we’ve received a ton of support and feedback from our public testing via Discord, and we think it’s important to keep this going,” they explained on Steam. “Blazing Sails has already improved a lot from the pre-alpha and we couldn’t have done it without our devoted community. Early Access allows us to keep expanding this amazing community and keep the valuable feedback coming while testing our newest features.”

There’s still plenty of work to be done, according to Get Up, but they’re bound and determined to finish the game regardless of how small their team might be. Blazing Sails sails into Steam early access on September 9th. To put this pirate affair on your wishlist, check out the store page here.
