New Call Of Duty: Black Ops 4 Teaser Hints At The Return Of Spectre

Treyarch has been delivering loads of new content for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 as of late, with the most recent addition being the inclusion of Hot Pursuit to Blackout. Now, it appears that the developer is teasing a bit of a throwback for the latest content addition, which is set to accompany the arrival of the game’s newest Operation, Strike from the Shadows.

The news comes by way of a teaser trailer recently released through the Call of Duty Twitter account, which shows a shadowy figure descending upon a squad with a bladed weapon. After taking care of business, the figure is then seen arming the last of a set of explosives before the Strike from the Shadows tagline appears. Many believe, given the mysterious figure’s weapon of choice and the familiar looking helmet, that the next specialist is none other than Spectre, who was originally playable in Black Ops 3. Check out the teaser below:

Again, this is only speculation at this point, though it certainly seems as if Spectre and their ‘Ripper’ weapon will be making a return on April 30th. Here’s the official description of Spectre from their bio:

“Next to nothing is known about the presumed wet-works Specialist, Spectre. The designation itself is a codename agreed upon by the various agencies that have pooled their intelligence on unsolved assassinations, inferring his or her existence based on either evidence found at the scene or from fragmentary reports given by shaken bystanders. Despite heavy redaction, all accounts suggest an individual capable of extraordinary stealth, able to evade or neutralize the most sophisticated of manned or automated security set-ups. In every case, Spectre’s victims have been ‘handled’ with surgically precise mid-line wounds with rarely any signs of struggle.”

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is now available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
