Black Desert Online Xbox One Release Window Revealed, Nintendo Switch Port A Possibility

Black Desert Online Xbox One

Ever since its release back in 2014, sandbox-oriented MMORPG Black Desert Online has been quite the draw for gamers looking for deep immersion and practically unrivaled character customization. Unfortunately, up until this year the game has only been available for PC, though developer Pearl Abyss always planned on pushing the title onto consoles. Thankfully, we’ve some good news on that subject; it has been revealed that the Black Desert Online Xbox One version of the game is coming soon.

Pearl Abyss CEO Robin Jung recently spoke with DualShockers about the timeline for the Xbox One version of the game. Although Jung was unable to provide a specific date for the upcoming Black Desert Online Xbox One version, he stated that his studio is gunning for a “summer-ish” release window. Unfortunately for those waiting on the previously announced PS4 version, Jung did not have any new news to share.

Another point of conversation was the potential for a Nintendo Switch port of Black Desert Online, based on the mobile version of the game. Jung believes that the characteristics between the mobile platforms and the Switch are similar enough that it could absolutely possible in the future, though he had no concrete information in that regard.

Black Desert Online is currently available for PC. Here’s a brief blurb of info about the MMORPG:

Black Desert Online is a sandbox, living-world MMORPG. Experience fast-paced, action-packed combat, hunt monsters and huge bosses, fight with friends in a guild to siege nodes and region castles, train your life skills such as fishing, trading, crafting, cooking, and much more!”
