The Binding of Isaac: Antibirth Wows Fans With Tons of Free New Content
Ever since its initial release in 2011, the popular roguelike shooter, The Binding of Isaac, has been showered with praise. The randomly generated environments and comically dark narrative caused the game to quickly rise in popularity amidst the golden age of indie games like Super Meat Boy. Just because The Binding of Isaac has had a long full lifespan as video games go, it doesn’t mean the developers Edmund Mcmilen and Florian Himsl have abandoned the game, first releasing a sequel, The Binding of Isaac Rebirth in 2014, followed by the expansion, Afterbirth, and now gracing us with a free fan made expansion titled Antibirth.
Five years ago, a young boy took his first trip down into the basement, facing the endless threats below to escape from the murderous delusions of his loving mother. Three years later, he found himself facing the same predicament but with an even greater plague of horrors and peril. Very shortly afterward, a modest few among us decided that even this was not enough. In the two years since then, fate has worked tirelessly to place by far the most fearsome challenge yet in his path. This time, Isaac will face our free and fan-made The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth expansion, Antibirth. So what exactly is in store for him?
The Binding of Isaac: Antibirth will come stocked to the brim with additional content for those that wish to once more brave the perils of their mother’s basement. The player will be treated with two new characters, over ninety collectibles to assist in the battle for the basement, over eighteen new trinkets, eighty new enemies, sixteen new bosses, and a staggering four thousand new rooms to frantically scramble through.
