The Legend of Zelda has continued to be one of Nintendo’s most trustworthy franchises for 35 years, and the series has shown no signs of slowing down. While it will still likely be a while before fans get their hands on the much-anticipated sequel to Breath of the Wild, for now, followers are finding their time occupied with Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity. The fun spinoff focuses on combating legions of enemies and strategizing on the battlefield. It was promised months ago that there would be Age of Calamity expansions to provide new content for the game, and now details about these expansions have been revealed.

Nintendo recently unveiled the new details about the Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity expansions on their official Twitter accounts. According to the posts, the expansions will consist of two waves, with the first releasing next month. This initial wave will consist of a new playable character, new weapon types (action styles), new challenges in the Royal Ancient Lab, and more challenging enemies than were previously available.

The second wave of the Age of Calamity expansions arrives in November and introduces more story and world-building elements for the game. This includes added character vignettes, new stages to play in as well as an expanded roster and battle skills for pre-existing characters. The full expansion pass will sell for $19.99 USD and becomes available for sale starting May 28th. Purchase of the pass also includes the new Prototype Ancient Armor and sword for Link to use in the game as a bonus. For Age of Calamity players looking for fresh ways to enjoy the game, this expansion pass is a Deku tree full of surprises.
