Beyond Good And Evil 2 Beta To Begin Next Year

Beyond Good and Evil 2 is well into its development stage, but there’s still quite a long ways to go before a finished product  will be presented. Ubisoft had its fair share of surprise announcements at this year’s E3, including a cinematic trailer for BGE2 that featured an epic surprise toward the end. For those eagle-eyed viewers following the game’s trail, it’s no secret that Jade is back and better than ever. Well, evil actually. Not only did the trailer present phenomenal, move-quality animation, but Jade’s reveal stunned audiences and only proved to build even more anticipation for the sequel.

The open-world multiplayer “space opera” was only teased during E3 2018, before that presented some pre-alpha gameplay footage and the entire timeline before the events of BGE2 during a livestream event. It looks like Ubisoft Montpellier has big plans in the making and creator Michel Ancel is just as excited to get Beyond Good and Evil 2 out to the fans. One fan was eager to know when they intend to launch the game by, but instead of a release date, they got a window for a beta. “We aim for a playable beta for the end of next year,” Ancel responded on Instagram.

That then begs the question, when exactly will Beyond Good and Evil 2 arrive? If a beta isn’t intended until the end of 2019, that likely means the game won’t ship until 2020. In the meantime, they’ve got phenomenal concept art and background stories to share on their various social media sites. Otherwise, any other details will be kept tight behind closed doors until the team is ready.

More will likely be revealed at E3 next year, but until then check out the amazing titles coming out this year. Were you a fan of the original Beyond Good and Evil?
