Death Stranding: Hideo Kojima Says He Wants To “Make It Count”

Death Stranding

Now that fans have enjoyed a new look at the upcoming mysterious title from Hideo Kojima, it’s hard to contain the hype that has been building for quite some time. The latest video, which was shown during Son’y E3 2018 presentation, gave gamers their first look at Death Stranding gameplay, and while there wasn’t much in terms of action, there was a bounty of beautiful visuals to gaze upon. That said, the finished project will likely be Kojima’s best, because he wants to “make it count.”

In a recent interview with Geoff Keighley, Kojima discussed as much of the game as he could without giving anything away. Speaking alongside Lindsay Wagner, who was recently revealed to be the heroine in Death Stranding, Kojima also talked about how getting Wagner on board was a crucial piece in the puzzle that he is constructing. He said:

For the heroine, I was thinking, ‘might as well be my last project, I don’t know, so I want to make it count’, and the person who has influenced me the most and I look up to the most is Lindsay.”

In the same clip, Kojima also touches on the way the game can be played. While it is possible to “power your way through it,” the director states that this is not the ideal way to go about experiencing the game. Death Stranding will be more about reconnecting the world and finding alternative ways to handle the situation players will face. You can read more about that right here.

Death Stranding is still without a release date, but when it does arrive, the title will be available on PlayStation 4. Keep it tuned to Don’t Feed the Gamers as this story develops, and for other gaming news going on right now, check out the following:
