Bethesda Studios is Hiring! Aims for New Talent to Aid With Multiplayer Focus

Bethesda is one of the juggernaut developers in the industry with well-known (and loved) titles such as the Fallout series and the Elder Scrolls franchise, among many others. One thing that these great games have in common is their strong single player narratives that are enjoyed by fans world-wide with an affinity for replayability. With Fallout VR on the horizon, Bethesda Game Studios definitely has more than one trick up their sleeve for the coming years in gaming. According to a recent job listing up on the site, a focus on multiplayer looks to be in the cards for the near future.

The job listing posted was for that of a Senior Core Tech Engineer and the posting synopsis reads as follows:

Bethesda Game Studios is seeking a Core Tech Engineer to help maintain, optimize, and extend our core engine technology.  You will be assisting a small team of core engineers with graphics, optimization, resource management, editor, exporters, audio, input, and multi-platform support.”

Throughout the long list of requirements for the position, there was one portion that stuck out to those hoping for some form of multiplayer in the future within the projects Bethesda Studios has lined up and that includes the added note looking for someone with  “experience developing for online multiplayer environment.”

The general fan base of Bethesda has not been shy about vocalizing a desire to see an Elder Scrolls 6 – many stating that they would love to see a co-op option available for the next stage in gameplay for that particular franchise. Whether the job listing is for a pre-existing franchise or a new IP all together remains to be seen, but we are definitely looking into it for more clarification.

Whatever the focus is for the team over at Bethesda, it is clear that “big” things are in the works as Todd Howard, Executive Producer, told fans previously. According to Howard, their five new projects they are currently working on include new titles that are are “bigger than anything we’ve ever done. They’re a bit different, but definitely in the wheelhouse that people are used to from us.” You can read more about what the Executive Producer had to say right here.

Speculation is endless but with E3 looming around the corner, we are sure that Bethesdaland will have many treats for fans to feast on for their gaming pleasure. What do you hope to see in the future from the team at Bethesda Studios? Are you hoping for another Fallout, or a new IP all together?
