2021 is in full swing, and with it, several big events in the US have already occurred. Perhaps the biggest event was the inauguration of new President Joe Biden, but the unlikely star of the event was none other than Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, who became a meme with his iconic winter look. Sanders has had unlikely brushes with the gaming industry in the past by calling on game developers to unionize and appearing in a Super Bernie World fan game. Now, Bernie is once again asking you to play him in a video game, now as a Soul Calibur VI fighter in his Bernie Sanders meme form.

Modder user619 has shared a video of their Bernie Sanders meme mod for Soul Calibur VI on their official YouTube  channel. The modder has created a physical digital recreation of Senator Bernie Sanders, as seen in popular memes from his appearance at the 2021 inauguration, that takes the place of the physical model for  the fighter Azwel. It also uses the standard Azwel dialogue and sound effect audio, but the character’s gruff yelling doesn’t sound all that dissimilar from Sanders’s usual charged, high-volume voice heard in heated Democrat Presidential candidate debates.

The Bernie Sanders meme digital model does not feature any animations, as Bernie simply remains snug and still in his chair, but that for some may only add to the powerful aura. The magical weapons formed out of the air act as they normally would for the mystical Azwel, but now it feels like Bernie is almost like a Professor X of sorts that moves his body and the weapons with only his mind. The mod is available for free on MediaFire, and is the perfect thing for Bernie fans looking to pit their favorite progressive politician against the toughest combatants out there.
