With information beginning to leak out of the development process, fans can’t help but be excited by the upcoming Battlefield 2018 title. Unfortunately, EA and DICE have remained rather silent about the game, leading many to speculate what exactly is in store for players. The leading theory is that it will take place during WWII and that it might be another Bad Company installment. Whatever it is, we might now know when the big reveal is to be expected.

Thanks to some crafty Battlefield 1 players, an Easter egg was uncovered in the Fort Vaux map. This one was a bit tricky, which led to gamers teaming up to find a solution. Take a look for yourself below:

After trying to find a way for quite some time, players finally did it. They first gained access to the “Isolement” chamber by finding the correct sequence of switches and basically smashing a bunch of things. Once this was achieved, a door opened to reveal… a deserted cell, which includes an interesting painting, some blood, and a bit of piping. Really, nothing out of the ordinary appeared.

However, one player took things to another level. Those pipes in the now unlocked room? Yeah, they’re leaking. It turns out that the drips coming from the pipes are morse code, and when decoded, it leads to an EA website that simply says “May 23, 2018 #Battlefield.” Could that be the date we finally see the big reveal for the Battlefield 2018 game? With the next Call of Duty set to be revealed just a week prior to then, there’s no telling if we will see anything from EA and DICE.

Despite not knowing when we’ll everything revealed, we do know that the next Battlefield entry is set to arrive later this year. It should also be noted that the title will be playable just before this year’s E3, so a reveal arriving just before then would make sense.
