More Titles Added to the Backwards Compatibility List for Xbox One – March Line-Up

March's Backwards Compatible

Larry Hyrb of Microsoft shed light on four of the games being added to the backwards compatibility list on the Xbox One. If you’d like to see the full list of titles available for this program, you can find those here. As for the games this month though we have zombies, racing, and alternate futures:

  • Dead Rising 2: Case 0
    • $4.99
  • Dead Rising 2: Case West
    • $9.99
  • Cars 2: The Video Game
    • $19.99
  • Meet the Robinsons
    • $19.99

Interestingly, the first two games on the list are more or less expansions to another game. Dead Rising 2: Case 0 and Dead Rising 2: Case West. Case 0 acts as a prologue to the main game of Dead Rising 2 and only lasts about one hour. This pre-game was intended for players to be able to learn the game before jumping in to the main story which is an interesting technique on the developers part. It also acts as a bridge between Dead Rising and Dead Rising 2, taking place two years after the first game and three years before the second. Case 0 takes place in a small town outside of Las Vegas as the main character Chuck Greene hacks and slashes his way to find Zombrex for his infected young daughter.

Case West takes place after the Ending A of Dead Rising 2. The setting here is that of a Phenotrans facility and follows Chuck and main character of the first game, Frank West, as they investigate this facility. Worth noting here, is that Frank is a playable character in the co-op but cannot be played in the single player. This game plays out more like an expansion than Case 0 does though still somewhat smaller than the main game itself. Both titles are available to play now on the Xbox One.

The second set of available titles are Cars 2: The Video Game and Meet the Robinsons. Cars 2 is a third person racing game featuring the cast of the Cars series. With 25 playable characters, players are able to train them to become world class spies and complete missions in each race. Fairly simple, unlike the idea behind the Meet the Robinsons game.

In Meet the Robinsons, players step inside the role of Wilbur and follow his exploits as he tries to stop the Bowler Hat Guy. He ends up knocking down Stanley and Lizzie which creates an alternate future in which they rule the world. Wilbur must go back to this future and fix it before he can once more pursue the Bowler Hat Guy. The game plays through 6 different locales and 40 missions, allows players to build cheats and extras, as well as play a mini- game similar to the likes of Breakout. If these sound interesting to you go ahead and check them out as well in the Xbox store.
