Assassin’s Creed Valhalla Collector’s Edition Confirms Female Protagonist

The news we’ve all been waiting for – the next Assassin’s Creed game. Titled Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, the next in line to the franchise is understandably set in during the era of Vikings in Scandinavia. Though we can’t say we didn’t see that coming (thanks to leaks and theory crafters out there), it certainly doesn’t make the world premiere any less exciting. In fact, a female protagonist was confirmed.

Thanks to an Amazon listing in the UK and the official website for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, the collector’s edition features two versions of Eivor – male and female – confirming the role of a female protagonist. Check it out:

According to Ubisoft, Eivor leads a clan of Norse people across the North Sea to build a new and prosperous life in 9th century England. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla features raids, massive assaults against Saxon strongholds, and longship attacks on enemy land. Build alliances and expand your influence across England through violence or diplomacy, create and customize settlements, and experience a brand new combat system.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s new combat system allows players to “bash, dismember, and decapitate your foes” with your choice of dual-wielding axes, swords, or even shields. Of course, there’s the return of the hidden blade as well. Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is expected to release later this year during the holiday season for Xbox One, Xbox One X series, PlayStation 5, PC, and Google Stadia.
