Next Assassin’s Creed Game Setting Officially Revealed (VIDEO)

Next Assassin's Creed

The next Assassin’s Creed game has been all but confirmed for this year and while the title has been the subject of unending rumors, Ubisoft still has yet to detail much of anything about the incoming entry. The most prominent speculation has suggested the new game might take place in the Viking era, following the lead of the series’ past two bygone settings of Ancient Greece and Egypt. After an extended run of rumors, it looks like the next Assassin’s Creed setting is being revealed today by means of a new piece of artwork.

In an unconventional move by Ubisoft, the big reveal is being headed up by ‘BossLogic,’ an online artist known for numerous pop-culture-inspired works. As his profile has risen considerably in recent years, the digital creator seems to have been tapped to reveal the next Assassin’s Creed setting via a new piece of artwork. A complete time-lapse of the artwork’s creation is now being live-streamed over Ubisoft’s official social channels, the footage currently displaying Nordic-style landscapes with a lone hero overlayed in heavy shadow. Check out the YouTube stream below.

While not completely finished yet, BossLogic’s art looks to be lending credence to rumors and hinting towards a Viking setting. We’ll know for sure with the passage of time, but it should be said that everything has been seemingly leading to Vikings for a while now. Without taking fan-speculation or leaks into consideration, Ubisoft has been seemingly teasing the Nordic lands as far back as last year with the debut of some suspicious artwork in The Division 2. There’s no telling what might be confirmed by the end of this livestream, but Ubisoft surely seems to have something up their sleeve for when the time finally comes.
