Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Cancels First In-Game Event, Here’s Why
Earlier this month, Ubisoft released the latest iteration of their long-standing franchise in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. As the latest in the series touting the power of choice and the return of RPG features as seen in Origins, there’s more to it than meets the eye. This is your personal odyssey in Ancient Greece, surrounded by triple-A visuals, side-quests galore, and battles to rival that of gods fighting for glory. In-game events are a thing too. On that note, however, it seems the first scheduled event has been canceled.
Fear not! It will happen, just not as soon as Ubisoft had intended. With a graceful sense of humor, the cancellation was announced via Twitter, and blamed the postponement on Damais the Indifferent’s lack of fortitude. Check it out below:
PSA: This week's live event was canceled – apologies for the inconvenience.
Rumor has it that Damais bailed at the very last minute. Apparently, he was intimidated by the idea of facing the misthios. He'll give you a fair fight as soon as we track him down. ⚔️ pic.twitter.com/8NkluGgPkw

It seems Damais wasn’t so indifferent after all! As a matter of fact, it seems he’s psyched himself out against the Misthios (a.k.a. Alexios or Kassandra), but determined folks are on the hunt to track the man down for a real fight. He’ll have to meet his maker eventually. The in-game event for Assassin’s Creed Odyssey will resume on October 23rd, 2018 and Ubisoft asks players to “keep an eye out on the Aegean Sea.”
