Apex Legends Has A Secret ‘Heirloom’ Item Set
Apex Legends has been absolutely destroying the battle royale competition ever since it released earlier this week. A free-to-play game by Respawn Entertainment, the title blends loads of unique gameplay elements together to create a fun, cohesive experience for anyone looking to try out some thrilling 3-person squad action. Now that the game’s been out for a week, it has been revealed that of the cosmetic items obtainable from loot boxes, there also contains a special ‘Heirloom’ item set.
The news comes by way of the folks over at Respawn Entertainment themselves, who revealed the existence of Heirloom Sets over on their official FAQ for Apex Legends. According to the developer, Heirloom Sets contain three items for one character, with the only currently released set being for Wraith. The set for Wraith in particular includes an intro line, an impressive looking melee weapon skin, as well as a banner pose.
As seen above, the Heirloom Sets are denoted by a red glow, which can be seen in the light that shines out of the Apex Pack when it first appears. The items are always bundled together in a set, and obtaining one does not use up a player’s Apex Pack. The drop rate for the Heirloom Sets is less than 1%, though players are guaranteed to get one by the time they open 500 packs, not unlike the bad luck protection in place for legendary items (which is one every 30 packs).
It will be interesting to see what else Respawn Entertainment has planned for these Heirloom sets in the future. I’m personally hoping for a set for Bloodhound, but any character class is possible.
Apex Legends is now available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
