Agony Developer Cancels Unrated PC Version Of The Game

Earlier this month, Agony developer Madmind Studio announced that it was working on ‘Agony Unrated,’ an unrated version of the game that features additional content, and changes suggested by the game’s community. Madmind was reportedly working with Steam representatives to ensure they’d be able to release the unrated version of the game for free, for those that had already purchased Agony through Steam.

Unfortunately, the dream of Agony Unrated is now dead. Madmind Studio announced through a new blog post on Steam that the developer has had to cancel the development of the game, due to financial problems. Here’s the full statement:

We regret to inform you that our company is currently struggling with financial problems. Due to technical and legal reasons, Madmind must cancel the development of Agony Unrated. Part of the team will continue to support Agony on Steam and consoles by publishing new patches.

Regarding the Xbox One patch – we have managed to find and fix the bug that was present on the Xbox One X console. We have sent the improved update to our publisher, who will pass it to the Microsoft today or tomorrow and we are expecting it to be approved in the next couple of days.

PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC will get another patch this week. It will introduce many fixes and a highly refined lighting system.”

Agony is now available for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
