Age of Empires Definitive Edition Announced – A Remastered Release of a Classic (VIDEO)
During the PC Gaming Show at this year’s E3 conference, Microsoft’s Adam Isgreen announced the remastered release of a classic PC game and it’s titled Age of Empires Definitive Edition. In celebration of the 20 years after its initial release, this version features 4K graphics, “re-orchestrated soundtrack, major gameplay improvements, new narrative, Xbox Live multiplayer and achievements”. There’s even a beta sign-up available at the official Age of Empires website! For a closer look at a comparison between the original and remastered release and gameplay, check out the exclusive trailer below:

It may not be another sequel or another expansion, but this news is even better for those of whom remember the days of the original strategy game. There’s an improved user interface, overall design, and smoother movements. Even though it is no longer headed by Ensemble Studios, it’s certainly a time to celebrate a classic title such as this. What do you think of Microsoft’s step toward remastering an older game with Age of Empires Definitive Edition? Do you think it was a wise choice or should they have created new content?
