Activision Blizzard isn’t having the best 2019. The company’s emerging financial woes have not only led to the departure of several notable executives, but came to a head last month when Destiny developer Bungie announced their split from the company. Matters have only seemingly gotten worse in the time since, as stock numbers have seen a decline, recently as low as 2.5 percent.

Now according to a report from Bloomberg, this unfortunate streak is about to get worse. It’s alleged that Activision Blizzard is preparing to announce massive layoffs for the company, one that could potentially leave hundreds of employees out of work. Letting go of so many personnel is reportedly part of a greater internal shake-up working toward “centralizing functions and boosting profit,” as put by one of the outlet’s sources.

As of now, Activision Blizzard has yet to extend an official announcement regarding the layoffs, but one is likely to take place soon. This incoming development follows a series of telling events such as the aforementioned split with Bungie and more recently with a pair of emerging class action lawsuits, suggesting the company’s troubles may not be ending anytime soon. Bloomberg’s report predicts that Activision’s sales could decline as much as 2 percent by the end of the year, bringing it to $7.28 billion.
