‘The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild’ and ‘Pokemon’ Collide With This Incredible Open-World Concept

The Legend of Zelda - Pokemon

Throughout the years, the Pokemon franchise has used a similar formula for each of its entries, but with the development of advanced technology, many fans have always dreamed of seeing an open-world installment.

This has prompted one passionate fan to create some concept art that is truly wonderful. They took Pokemon and imagined if the popular series took place in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. The image, which can be seen above, will surely make any fan of the franchise want an open-world adventure surrounding the trainers and their pocket monsters. This is apparent in the comments of the original Reddit post.

I think it’s safe to say that many Pokemon fans would pay serious money for a game in the franchise made with the Breath of the Wild engine. With Game Freak at the helm of the 8th generation Pokemon title, every fan is certainly on the lookout for what’s to come.

Of course, if a Pokemon adventure were set in an open-world, it would surely have to be more difficult, right? At least, that’s what some of the Redditors had to say. M0dusPwnens summed it up nicely, saying:

“The games desperately need a difficulty setting. Let’s Go was a breath of fresh air with a reasonable number of Pokemon and reasonable complexity instead of a dozen years of accumulated complexity. So much more pleasant than 5000 Pokemon with 72 types and Pokemon with three passives and inherited moves and four types at the same time and held items and mega evolutions and god only knows what else.

“I just want a simple Pokemon game with even slightly challenging fights. To the extent that we might ever see a more challenging game (not just one area of challenging “endgame”), it seems really unlikely it will be the simpler kind rather than the main line of games that just keeps bloating with more and more “features”.”

All we have to do is wait to see what Game Freak has in mind for their upcoming Pokemon title. Until then, keep it tuned to Don’t Feed the Gamers as this story develops, and for other gaming goodness going on right now, check out the following:
