IBillionaire inventor Elon Musk has perhaps become as well known for his internet antics as he is for his technological innovations. His now infamous appearance on Joe Rogan’s podcast has now become as well known as his launching of a Tesla automobile into space. Lately, Musk has been using his Twitter account as a means of stoking the internet’s mass response, for good or for ill. He recently used Twitter to troll Fortnite fans, and it seems his take on internet and gaming culture is not stopping yet. In a new tweet, Elon Musk compares various social media sites to games like Dark Souls.

Twitter is Dark Souls of social media. Reddit is Bloodborne. Insta is Zelda.

Elon Musk sent out the gamer reference-loaded tweet on his official Twitter account earlier today. The tweet reads, “Twitter is Dark Souls of social media. Reddit is Bloodborne. Insta is Zelda.” Elon is building upon the popular internet meme in which difficult tasks or pastimes are compared to notoriously challenging game Dark Souls. It seems that he felt compelled to extend the comparison by using other games similar to Dark Souls, mechanically speaking. Both Bloodborne and Legend of Zelda utilize third-person combat systems that mostly rely on melee weapon-based attacks.

Considering Dark Souls and Bloodborne are quite similar From Software games, it makes sense for the two to be compared to the mostly text-focused communities on Reddit and Twitter that can occupy massive amounts of one’s time. Given the colorful appearance and ease of use on Instagram, one can see where that other connection is made. Still, it has been interesting to see such a looming figure in tech, business and culture using nerdy pastimes to communicate his deepest thoughts. Let’s just see though where Musk goes with his thoughts on anime, which seem to just be starting.
