God of War exceeded all expectations for Kratos’ long-anticipated return to consoles, and as such game director Cory Barlog has revealed that he has “five games” in mind for the series. Of course, that’s looking at things on a pretty large timelines, and for now fans have been wondering about what post-launch content they can sink their teeth into.

While there will undoubtedly be plenty of mission-based content to come, for now Santa Monica Studio has revealed that a Photo Mode for the game will be debuting soon. “We will be debuting Photo Mode and introducing a global increase to text size in all menus and subtitles,” the developer revealed in a new post. “We’re also planning an additional controller option to remap Rage Mode.”

The new remapping option for Rage Mode is definitely going to be helpful. While Kratos’ controller options are certainly versatile during normal gameplay, Spartan Mode rather understandably restricts attacks to a couple buttons, which take different commands (hold R2, press R2, etc) to execute different attacks. Kratos is still the God of War in our hearts, so it is only fair that he has easy access to all of his attacks during Spartan Rage.

As far as the increase in text size goes, that will definitely be yet another much-appreciated update. Even on larger televisions, the text within the game is pretty small, especially when looking at descriptions of Runic attacks and weapon and armor enchantment descriptions. In addition to the other updates, the developer is also taking a look into an issue regarding the selection of “New Game” where players can potentially run into progression blockers. ‘We are continuing to investigate an issue where selecting the “New Game” option from the main menu without closing down the application first may result in missing dialogue and possible progression blockers. To avoid this in the meantime, please close down the application before starting a new playthrough.”

God of War is now available exclusively for the PlayStation 4.
