There has always been the debate as to whether or not video games cause people to act out in violence. While some have tried linking playing gruesome titles to tragic incidents over the years, the rabbit hole of evidence will continue to lead most to either side of the argument. However, as is the case with a recent Nintendo gaming session in Houston, playing games may lead some people to resort to violence.

According to Fox 26 Houston, who provided the above photo, three men sustained gunshot wounds when a gaming session turned violent. Check out the full report below:

Three men are recovering from gunshot wounds after a video game night turns violent also in Southwest Houston.  Houston police say a group of people was playing Nintendo at 10:30 pm. last night at the Sharon Park Village Apartments on Chimney Rock. That’s when some kind of altercation occurred and shots were fired. Three adults were hit. They were taken to the hospital. It’s unclear how many people may have been involved in the shooting.

All are expected to recover from their injuries.”

With the above having been said, no evidence has come to light regarding whether or not it was the Nintendo gaming session itself that led to the violent act. It could have been a separate altercation that happened to take place around the time gaming was going on. If it were related to the game being played at the time, the title is unknown at this point. Either way, be sure to take a deep breathe the next time a friend hits you with a blue shell in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and always do your best not to resort to violence.
