Unlocking The Evil Within 2’s Hidden First Person Mode (VIDEO)
Horror games are pretty scary regardless of what perspective, however there’s something about the first person mode that’s downright terrifying. The third person gives players a chance to feel disconnected from the character, almost as if they’re watching the character’s actions unfold versus actually a part of it. In the first person, the players are able to become the characters, making their choices all the more real and horrifying.. Check out The Evil Within 2 hidden first person mode in action in the video below:

On the PC version of the game, players can open up the command console and enter the command “pl_FPS_1” which will then immediately switch the game into the first person mode. The mode feels very reminiscent of games like Resident Evil or Outlast. Unfortunately, players on the console versions of the game are unable to witness the game through the eyes of Sebastian, stuck with experiencing the horror through the third person perspective. Because the finished product of the game was not meant to be played in the first person perspective, players on the PC might find that there are some issues with some of the mechanics. Overall, the experience is definitely worth a playthrough or two.
The Evil Within 2 launched on Friday the 13th of October for PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4; just in time for Halloween.
