American Horror Story Cult Trailer Goes Deep into the Story – Clowns, Hysteria, and Politics (VIDEO)
After months of teasers that really gave nothing more than people with a fear of clowns a good fright, FX finally unveiled their first real look at the seventh season of the horror television series. American Horror Story Cult will be one that thrives on fear. Using present day events, the team behind the popular TV show shows how powerful that fear can be. As one character says in the trailer below, “If you get people scared enough, they will set the world on fire.” Check out the first look for yourself in the video below:

It’s getting real, you guys. Though many will say “keep politics out of entertainment,” political strive has been a source of fear for generations upon generations and the show’s creator Ryan Murphy has never been shy about pulling his audience towards what makes them uncomfortable. Seven 7 will be no different and the trailer above gives an intense look at just how many ways fear can manifest. This is what the show’s creator had to say about his vision for the new season:
American Horror Story is going to be about the election that we just went through. And what I’m interested in doing is not just the obvious, single-minded point of view but rather express all sides of that equation. What needs to happen in our country now is for people to listen to each other—we may not always agree with each other and we may be horrified by what the other side is doing but we have to move toward understanding. So that’s one example of what I’m going to do.”
Long-time fans of the show can also see more than a few familiar faces, included actor Evan Peters and Sarah Paulson. A few new faces will be joining the cast but it wouldn’t be a show with a prominent feature of clowns without good ‘ol maniacal Twisty, who first made his debut in American Horror Story Circus.
American Horror Story Cult makes its television debut on FX September 5th. Will you be tuning in to see the present-day adaptation through the eyes of Ryan Murphy?
