Imagine taking elements from franchises such as Mass Effect, Titanfall, Fallout, and The Witcher, and wrapping them up into one sandbox style RPG (role-playing game). THQ Nordic and Piranha Bytes (the developers of games such as Gothic and Risen) have done just that with their upcoming title, Elex. Set to come out later this fall, it looks to be an RPG geared at high fantasy and futuristic science fiction, all set in a post-apocalyptic world. The game takes place in the fictional world of Magalan, where science fiction meets fantasy. Players will be faced with magic wielding enemies as well as attack drones and mutated beasts. Adventurers will also be forced to make tough moral choices as they journey through the large sandbox style open-world, that will either save the regions or destroy them at your will. Every area of the map will be available to players from the very beginning of the game. Face off against many types of enemies with weapons that range from laser rifles to crossbows.

ELEX is a handcrafted action role-playing experience from the award-winning creators of the Gothic series, set in a brand new post-apocalyptic science fantasy universe that puts players into a huge, seamless game world full of original characters, mutated creatures, deep moral choices and powerful action.

Elex will be released on October 17 of this year for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. There will also be a collector’s edition available, which comes jam packed full of goodies. This edition will contain the Elex game disc, an artbook, a cloth map of Magalan, a statue of an Alb Mage, and an attack drone amulet. The collector’s edition will retail at $119.99 on consoles and $109.99 on PC.
