Steven Universe Title Making Its Debut On PS4 and Xbox One (VIDEO)

Steven Universe

For fans of the hit Cartoon Network show Steven Universe a chance to delve into the world of this quirky, and oftentimes touching, show would seem like a dream come true. Luckily for those who love the show, that chance is coming a lot sooner than one would expect. Debuting this summer, Steven Universe: Save the Light is coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and brings a very Paper Mario-esque feel to this quirky RPG title.

Developed by Grumpyface Studios, Steven Universe: Save the Light is a sequel to the 2015 mobile title, Attack the Light. The title was announced back in March during PAX East 2017, with a reveal trailer which can be seen below. As of right now, there is no set release date for the console title, though we do know that the game will be a digital release only. For now, check out the trailer here to get a refresher on just how much fun this title looks like it’s going to be:

In the upcoming console release, each character will have a unique set of skills that can help the player advance in the story, and utilizes an active-time battle system where players must carefully choose their next attacks during battle (though luckily, the game does pause while players choose their next moves). The game will include all the major characters like Steven and the Crystal Gems, while also including other main characters like Connie and Greg. Utilizing each character’s unique skills will help players solve puzzles and defeat enemies, while also strengthening the relationship between them as the game progresses.

It has also been announced that Steven Universe creator Rebecca Sugar has had her hand in helping Grumpyface develop Save the Light by looking over crucial scenes and writing the game’s dialogue and story. According to Grumpyface, the main quest will take about 12 hours to finish.
